Penistone East: Sue Waters

ncluding Oxspring, Thurgoland, Cawthorne, Silkstone, Silkstone Common, Hoylandswaine, Tankersley, Pilley and surrounding village communities.

Sue is our candidate and campaigner for Penistone East. She came second in the ward in 2019 and will be fighting to win in 2020.

Sue lives in Silkstone with her husband Andy. They have lived in the village for thirty years, and raised their family there. Sue and Andy's two daughters went to Silkstone Primary School, where Sue served as Chair of the PTA, then on to Penistone Grammar.

Sue now runs a small business in Barnsley, providing training courses and qualifications for adults. In her spare time she enjoys playing golf and walking.

A keen environmentalist, Sue is passionate about protecting our wonderful countryside, parks and green spaces, and wants to be elected to give our villages and rural communities a strong, committed voice in the Town Hall.

Lots of you have told us that we don't get a fair deal from Barnsley's Labour council.

The Barnsley and Penistone Lib Dem team is headed by Councillors Hannah and David in Penistone.  You can contact us about any local issues. We represent you and we are your voice in the Town Hall however you voted.

We are here to-

  • Represent everyone in our community.
  • Keep you informed all year round of what is happening in our area.
  • Shine a light on the workings of the Labour controlled Town Hall, question their decisions and hold them to account. We will be your strong independent voice in Barnsley Town Hall.

Unlike other Yorkshire councils, Barnsley do not allow the public to ask questions at the Town Hall full council meetings. If you have a question that you would like asking at these meetings then please get in touch with us.

Can you help us? Come and join a winning team.

You will have seen how busy we are throughout the year and we intend to keep this up. Would you like to get involved?

Can you deliver a few newsletters, or help with admin or social media?

Then please get in touch with us at [email protected]

If you would like to help us but don't have the time then perhaps you can help our campaign fund instead.
Modern campaigning is expensive and we don't get any help from unions or big business.
